The Map is where you will hire Reporters, assign Stories, and pick up Advertisements.

The Legend[]
At the top of the map is a legend that shows the meaning of the Advertisements and Story Genre icons:
You can toggle the legend on and off by pressing the G key. Once you learn the icons, it can be useful to turn off the legend in order to see more of the map:

When time is nearly up...[]
The lights come on when time is nearly up and it's time to compile the day's issue.
